2000 — Little Blue Volkswagon
In 2000, Denham released Little Blue Volkswagon, a debut
CD produced by Joey DeFrancesco and recorded with Mike Howard
on guitar (Peggy Lee, Marvin Gaye) and Dave Cook on drums (Joey
DeFrancesco). What a name, what a voice. The blues never sounded so good.
This is a voice with power and conviction - this is a voice that
commands attention and was meant to sing the Blues. Yes, I can get
into this. I even like the song about the Little Blue Volkswagon,
no bribes and no lies. I love Moe's voice, singing the blues and
pumping his organ grooves. The only thing missing is Count Basie's
Band.
